What is the value of anything? If non-fungible tokens are the future, then what is the worth of a tangible piece of art?
Is a free paper zine that is signed by the artist worthless if the NFT of the zine is millions of dollars?
A limited run of 40 zines were printed off an office printer on high grade paper in March 2021. They were circulated amongst anyone who reached out to the artist, anyone who knew the artist, and anyone who wanted one. Do those zines hold value to anyone other than the individuals featured in it? If that zine’s master template is minted on blockchain will the physical copies gain value in the future?
Are we just thinking too much about why one is more valuable than the other? What’s the worth of the list price if the value of the currency is not widely adopted?
